Chest Exercising Tips Index

Chest Exercising Tips Index

Having great chest muscles is desired by every one. We work hard and use different techniques to build that perfect chest. To have such body we need to follow very exhaustive and hard working schedule. It takes months for some good results to show. Without proper equipment and proper guidance the results are not upto mark. So we need to be sure that we know what we are doing.

Tips for training your chest.

  1. While working out always have the midsection of the body in a firm position.
  2. The lower back should be pushed in to the bench while using the bench to perform chest exercises.
  3. While training chest, never hold your breath. Breathe out at the hardest point in exercise. E.g. In bench press breathe out while pushing the bar away from body.
  4. We should shape the chest too. Inclines and declines can be of great use for that. We should train all parts of chest and not just concentrate only on one part.
  5. For those who are not comfortable with bench exercises, Pec Decs, machine bench presses often have adjustable seats which secures the lower back too and should be used.
  6. Always perform the warm up exercises before the workout and a cool down after.

Basic chest exercises

Push ups
Lie with your face downwards and hands are forward on the floor, a little wider than the shoulders apart. The stomach needs to be kept firm and body straight while performing push ups.

Push ups from your toes -
The body needs to be pushed upwards while keeping the whole body straight. Only hands and toes should touch the floor. The body has to be lowered down almost touching the floor and than again it is pushed up. Continue till you are done with the numbers of repetitions required.

Push ups from your knees -
It is the best exercise for the beginners. The body is pushed up while having the midsection firm, no hip sagging should be there and the whole body should be straight. The knees should touch the ground and your feet should be rested behind. The chest needs to almost touch the ground. This is to be performed till the set is complete.

Lying Dumbbell Flyes
To perform this exercise, we need bench and a dumbbell set. We need to lie on our back and hold dumbbells in each hand. Dumbbells are pushed upwards to touch together at arms length above the chest. The elbow should be bent a little while performing the exercise. When the dumbbells are up, the palms should face each other.

Keeping the arms in the same position, the dumbbells are lowered out to sides to feel the starch on the chest. Like this we have to complete the sets thereby developing great chest muscles.
